Project: Investigating RNA processing and the RNA-binding proteome in ALS
Life in the Lab
I am a qualified Vet and PhD student, co-supervised by Prof Rickie Patani and Prof Nick Luscombe. I am using a stem cell model of human ALS to uncover and dissect the underlying mechanisms which cause death of motor neurons. Specifically, I am looking at how aberrant RNA processing arises and manifests, at the level of the transcripts themselves (splicing) and at the protein level (RNA binding proteins).

Existential exploration (translation: staring into space); plus some reading, writing, and squash-playing.
